The Ninebot S2 uses a Lithium-ion battery type and has increased its battery capacity from previous models to allow for longer usage. In this model, the total capacity is 335Wh, enabling it to travel up to 35 kilometers on a single charge and requiring only 4.5 hours for a full charge.

The Battery Management System (BMS) of the Ninebot S2 is designed to prevent potential battery-related issues, such as
1. Prevents overheating Until leading to a fire.
2. Prevent electric shock.
3. Prevent excessive discharge to the battery resulting from damage to the charging cable.
4. During charging If the battery has reached 100% full power, then the BMS will cut off the power to prevent the battery from estimating excessive current.
5. Prevent excessive battery cell discharge during use.
6. Prevent the voltage in the battery cell from dropping leading to rapid deterioration.

Similar to the previous balance board models, the Ninebot S2 can also have its control shaft removed and used as the rear wheel of the Ninebot Gokart Kit. In this setup, the Ninebot S2 serves as the motor driving the rear wheel of the Ninebot Gokart Kit, enabling speeds of up to 27 km/h.
